Description of Chem-Sil
Chem-Sil is a tissue-bearing appliance using soft
elastomeric gaskets to surround the abutment teeth. This "no-clasp"
partial splints, stabilizes and cushions mobile teeth helping prevent
their loss. A patient with mobile or periodontally involved teeth
or whose supporting bone or general health suggests a poor prognosis
for traditional cast-metal clasp partials or complete dentures is
a Chem-Sil attachment candidate. The office technique is extremely
simple since there are no special preparations or impression techniques
required. The Chem-Sil partial requires minimal adjustments and chair time.
Comfort is quickly and easily achieved. The Chem-Sil attachment denture
is also an outstanding transitional denture which allows add-ons
